6 Reasons Not to Eat Healthy Food

Friday, October 10, 2008

Eating real, local, organic food takes a lot of time and effort. Here are some reasons you probably don't want to bother:

1. Eating Healthy Will Make You Feel Better

Who wants to feel better? Your life is fine the way it is, no sense in devoting time and effort to feeling more alert and energetic.

2. Eating Healthy Will Make You Live Longer

Eating healthier food reduces your risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, etc. When you get older, you can't do as much fun stuff anyway, so why bother? Are you really going to regret missing out on the extra 20 years of golf and bridge when you're enjoying a tasty buffet up in heaven? Probably not.

3. Eating Healthy Will Reduce Your Environmental Impact

Since you won't be around much longer (see #2 above), why worry about the environment when you could let the next generation deal with it? Besides, all that global warming stuff is probably fake anyway.

4. Eating Healthy Tastes Better

Initially, this seems like a positive, but it isn't. What happens when you eat at a non-fancy restaurant or have pizza at a friend's house? You'll feel horrible afterwards! Don't compromise your enjoyment of those moments by becoming accustomed to they way real food tastes.

5. Eating Healthy Costs More

Why spend money on good food when you can buy cheap calories in bulk? Save your money for the essentials:
  • Brand Name Clothing
  • Gas for your car
  • Cable TV
  • Drinks

6. Eating Healthy Will Inspire Your Friends

Why would you want to be blamed when your friends suffer through the problems associated with #'s 1-5? Don't distract them from the things that really matter, like having time for their favorite TV shows, winning this week's fantasy football match up, and being able to eat a pint of ice cream without feeling like crap afterwards.

Because there is no Friday Interview this week (sorry!), please share this article with a friend so they don't fall into the trap of eating healthy food. Speaking from personal experience, it's a hard habit to break!
